A report published by Korean news site yesterday suggested that Samsung has reduced its focus on the high-end smartphone market and will be focusing on the low-end/mid-range and tablets instead. A followup report claims that Samsung is looking to sell around 42 million tablets in 2014, and is working on a 13.3-inch tablet, in addition to the 12.2-inch tablet that continues to be in the news.
The 13.3-inch tablet is apparently an attempt by Samsung to impede on the laptop and desktop PC market, especially when it comes to business and productivity usage. This tablet could be the Galaxy Tab 2014 Edition with Android and Windows RT dual-booting that has been rumored before, though we’ll likely have to wait until CES next year to find out what plans Samsung is cooking up behind closed doors in South Korea.
