Earlier this month, a girl from Switzerland was injured in an explosion that was due to her Galaxy S III device. As one would expect, Samsung took the damaged device for a detailed investigation and now they’ve revealed that the battery used in the phone was not official. Samsung statement to Le Matin says the battery present in the phone “was not supplied or manufactured by Samsung or a company authorized by Samsung.”
The outcome is interesting because in one of the pictures you can see the Samsung battery sticker, which is pretty identical to the one you’d find on your Samsung device. If that’s a counterfeit, Samsung may have a bigger problem at hand.
The disappointing part from the whole incident is that the girl suffered some burns on her thighs.
